PanAust and its Lao-registered company, Phu Bia Mining celebrated the 10th anniversary of Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver Operation in February. The celebrations mark a decade of strong beginnings, enduring partnerships, and vibrant communities.

On Friday 24 February, PanAust managers and employees joined with senior Lao Government leaders and representatives from the embassies, international organisations and private sector at a cocktail function in Vientiane.

The Prime Minister of the Lao PDR and Politburo member, His Excellency Dr Sonexay Siphandone congratulated PanAust, Phu Bia Mining’s management and its employees for contributing to the Government’s goals for national socio-economic development.

PanAust managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mr Daling Zheng said the Company was proud of its contributions that directly support the Government’s national socio-economic agenda.

“Since commencing, Phu Bia Mining has contributed over US$1.7 billion to the Lao economy, with payments of US$927 million (m) in royalties and taxes to the Government of Laos. In 2022, the Government received a dividend payment of US$8.7m for its 10 per cent holding in Phu Bia Mining,” Mr Zheng said.

Looking ahead, Mr Zheng reiterated Phu Bia Mining’s commitment to further developing and exploring new opportunities in Laos.
