Phu Bia Mining hosts national and provincial Governments of Laos’ Biannual meeting

Phu Bia Mining (PBM) held the first of two Government of Laos biannual meetings scheduled for 2026 on 14 August at Avani Plus Lanexang Hotel in Vientiane. The meetings’ aims are to continue the successful two-way dialogue and relationship between PBM and the Government of Laos on matters of common interest.

The meeting hosted 80 national and provincial Government officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministries of Industry and Commerce, Finance, Agriculture and Environment, National Defence, the Investment Promotion and Management Committee, the Propaganda & Training Committee and Xaisomboun and Xieng Khouang Provincial Governments.Honorary chairpersons for the meeting included Mr Chansaveng Boungnong, the Vice Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mr Thongpaseuth Xaiyalath, the Vice President of the Xaisomboun Provincial Administration Committee, and Mr Hongkham Phimmasan, the Vice President of the Xiengkhouang Provincial Administration Committee.Senior Management representing the Company led by Mr David Reid, Phu Bia Mining’s Managing Director, Mr Zhen Luo, Deputy General Manager, Ms Manilath Arounlangsy, Senior Manager External Affairs, and Ms Vannaly Phounsavath, Government Relations Manager.

Over the course of the half-day meeting, the Company launched its 2026 20-minute corporate video with participants showcasing PBM’s world-class and award-winning mining operations in Laos. Participants were informed of PBM’s financial and economic contributions to Xaisomboun Province and the central level of Government, as well as the Company’s community development and livelihoods projects that meet international evaluation benchmarks. PBM representatives also presented strong operational excellence, environmental and safety performance, growth projects, and future planned mines in Laos.

The meeting later enabled PBM and the national and provincial Governments to discuss several matters requiring resolution to help the Company achieve its growth and development targets, benefiting the Government and the people of Laos.

Phu Bia Mining’s Managing Director, David Reid, expressed the strong partnership and emphasised PanAust shareholders’ long-term goals to continue their mining operations in Laos.
