On 2 February, PanAust’s Lao-registered Company, Phu Bia Mining (PBM) was pleased to announce the re-commencement of its Trade Apprentice Program.
A group of enthusiastic Lao youngsters, kick-started their mining careers with the start of their apprentice programs. They will undertake a three-year trades training program in either electrical, heavy-duty mechanical, welding, automotive electrical or fitting.
Congratulations to the 44 apprentices – 17 of whom are female – who commenced the program in mid-January. The program is delivered in conjunction with the Lao-German Technical College in Vientiane.
The apprentices were selected from a pool of 3,150 applicants from across Laos including the provinces and districts close to PanAust’s Operations.
At the conclusion of the three-year program, the apprentices will receive an Australian Certificate III in their trade discipline and a High Diploma from the Lao Ministry of Education and Sport.
